The best thing about this painting is it actually looks like it was done in the period it represents. It has the same style some paintings had in the 1700's.

Heh, I just started looking at making a napoleonic/fantasy tactical war game. Something like this would fit perfectly! 1 Thought I'd expect the riders to be carrying pistols, but maybe they're in dress uniforms? 12

And I wish I could paint like that... :'( It's so beautiful!

Oh! I love the idea and the historical costumes. Brings to mind Naomi Novik's Temeraire series..'His Majesty's Dragon' and all that. Another wonderful painting!
